My wife made me do it.
- Deels is a nickname
- My DOB is 06/04
- Same b-day with our niece Q
- She is much cuter than me
- I have 12 brothers and sisters
- My mother has MS
- She frequently uses it to manipulate the family
- I love her anyway it makes me sad
- The best day of my life was meeting Shannon
- No the best day was marrying her
- No again the best day was having our son
- Jackson was a beautiful baby boy
- Watching Shan give birth was the most scared I've ever been
- And I've been in actual combat
- I want to re-enlist
- But that won't happen
- I'm a pretty staunch Republican
- Shannon isn't
- But we don't argue over politcs very much
- Last night was the best New Year - playing Spades with my in-laws and wife
- Shan's parents call her baby-bird
- Because when she was a baby, she sat around with her mouth hanging open when it was time to eat
- You guys should call her baby-bird - SHE LOVES IT, heh
- They also call her bird-dog - that one I don't know about but SHE LOVES IT, TOO, heh
- They call her sister Boo
- Shan was pissed when she first heard other people using Boo as a term of affection
- I called her that ONCE and she quickly told me that was Elle's nickname and she hated hearing other people use it
- She is fucking crazy insane
- Shan that is, not Elle
- My FIL is one of my best friends
- He is one smart guy
- And he loves his wife, kids and g-kids like nothing I aint see before
- My own dad is my best fried too
- The first time my dad met Shan he said I would marry her
- Or would be stupid if I didn't
- He was right
- I have never met anyone with a shorter fuse than Shan
- Naaaw for real yall; her temper is legendary
- But she doesn't hold grudges
- Except with my mom
- And cant say I blame her (Shan)
- I was a fat kid until I got interested in martial arts
- I was told growing up that I was ''gay'' for liking to sing
- College was the first time I felt like it was ok to like singing
- Shan loves to sing too
- But she shouldnt
- No she REALLY shouldnt
- My wife keeps perfume on the nightstand
- She puts lotion on her hands and perfume behind her ears everynight before bed
- I don't know why she does but I'm glad she does
- Its sweet
- I have made a lot of friends in trucking
- But still hang mostly with the same guys from growing up
- I grew up in Harlem
- And wanted to raise our kids there, east coast
- But I think this OR/WA thing will be good too
- Two of my brothers are considering moving there too now
- Shannon talks to her dog crazy
- She literally says Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii there to that dog everytime the mutt comes in a room
- The dog grunts at her like she talking
- One day I'm going to make that dog really like me
- But really she (Sadie) is Shan's dog - she only tolerates other people
- I would like to get a puppy when we move
- When Jackson was so sick - I felt so helpless
- I wanted to run away
- One night at the hotel, I packed a bag then realized I was being a punk
- When I told Shan about it I thought she would be angry or hurt
- She said she thought about doing the same thing every night
- Shan had security and the cops called on her at the hospital
- Because she attacked a nurse who was rough with Jackson
- But the nurse ended up getting in trouble
- I COULD NOT BELIEVE Shan went after her like that
- It was pretty cool really
- But not really because our hearts were breaking
- I miss my son
- And for him, I miss that Shannon didn't get to be his mother
- I have many neices and nephews, including Elle's kids and none of them compared to Jax
- Shan is one of the clumsiest motherfcukers ever
- She is also part monkey - she can climb anything like nothing I ever seen
- But she also trips over her own feet everyday
- I have been trucking for a long time
- I was worried about co-driving with Shan because I thought I would end up needing to re-train her
- She is one of the best drivers ever and not just because she my wife
- She can back in most anywhere
- But she short so she always ends up opening the door and hanging halfway out
- And I always worry she's going to fall out
- I used to use the internet just for some games, keeping in touch on the road {and porn, you ain't gotta lie to kick it, homey - Shan} and email. The message board friends of Shan blew me away.
- Someone sent Jackson flowers & a bear everyday for a week straight. We still don't know who but they included prayer cards everytime. It was the nicest thing and please don't be shy if it was you, speak up.
- My wife keeps a box of graham cracker crumbs by the bed at night.
- No not crackers - the crumbs that you make crust with - WHAT THE HELL?
- Losing Jackson hurts too much to think about some days.
- My wife is still very sick.
- Im excited to meet some of Shan's internet friends when we move. Some will live near us some we're going to meet along the way.
- Don't tell her I said so but Shan is the sexiest motherfucker I've ever known { Dude. I know, right? Hee - Shan }.
- We watch Full Metal Jacket everytime it's on cable.
- I'm gonna miss my FIL's cable package when we move - that mug has every channel.
- I hope Shan mellows like her mom as she gets older - My MIL is the sweetest lady I know.
- I hope 2007 is good to all of you
- The best part of my day is Shannon shaving my head and face for me.
- The best part of my life is knowing it will only get better from here.

"The best day of my life was meeting Shannon

No again the best day was having our son
Jackson was a beautiful baby boy

Ah Deels. I can't wait to meet you. Your entire post was wonderful, but I needed to post that part of it once again.
See you soon.

Daaaamn. IDAT, if you weren't already married to this man, I would insist that you do so immediately.

Woah, hold up. OR.../WA? What is this /WA business? I mean, yeah, sure, it's your money/future and all, but--COME TO OREGON, people. It's what all the cool kids are doing these days. We have a nice, temperate climate, and cheap...ish caple packages (hot cable guys/gals, too) and maybe a few too many Democrats for Mr. Deels taste (but there are plenty of Republicans around these parts as well--I know 'cause I fight with them all the time). Forget about /WA...it is not nice enough for you there!!!

Most people in Oregon can actually spell 'cable,' I swear. (Unlike some of the citizens I have known from /WA.)

I think my husband is still the cat's meow (after 10 years), but you're right up there, too. She's lucky. You're lucky. I'm lucky. We wish it on more people.
Love your post so much I'm making the husband read it. With a lot of whining about "why don't YOU ever write things like that about ME, huh, loser boy?"

Nah sorry for the confusion, WA/OR just means Portland/Vancouver, that general area. I think that about the coldest Shan will stand.
Regina, WORD.
Snark, like I said, my wife made me do it, HA. Make you man do it. More people would be happy if they think about how good they have it --and why-more often.

The perfume is Design ( http://www.perfume.com/paul-sebastian/design-1007512.html ) and I love it. I put it on before bed because it smells SO good and relaxing (what? relaxing doesn't have a scent?).
Also, because you only have to set your hair on fire the one time before you find a way other than candles to ''aromatherapy'' yourself to sleep. Heh, yes, seriously.

I can't believe I read this whole thing. Most "100 Things" posts make me weary right around #3. This one made me cry. In a good way. I'm glad you have your own sign-on. Don't be shy. Happy New Year!

Heh, I like to talk things out.

That was about how long THAT conversation lasted, Stix.
''I think I want to go back in th--''
''You're not''
''But I really want--''
''Deels cannot join the Army today Signed, Epstein's Mutha. The End''

I love this post. Yeah, and what everyone else said.

That made me cry. You and Shan are so lucky to have each other.
